Well, January starts us off with a night IN. 🥶
We did enjoy seeing students yesterday at our first day back to classes! We will have to wait to see the rest. Classes are cancelled this evening due to the freezing rain we are experiencing. Please stay home and be safe and warm.

Competition Season is arriving! 🎉 🪩 🗓️
Our 2026 Competition Recital comes up FAST after the holidays! Stay tuned for tickets for the recital (coming soon). Tickets will be sold through City of Barrie, as the recital is at Georgian Theatre. We are very excited to see this dynamic team (ages 7 all the way to 70!) on stage, as they prepare to attend three competitions this season! Come on out this January to see some fabulous performances by these dancers.

This month we welcome Laura Kelly to the centre!
During the month of January Laura will be joining us and filling in to teach music lessons. We are very excited to have her smile and her energy with us! If you see Laura around the centre, be sure to give her a welcome hello!

Laura is a graduate of York University’s Faculty of Fine Arts with an honours degree in Music. While Laura specializes as a soloist in classical and opera, her other performance credits include choral singing, musical theatre, and ensemble work. Eager to share her love of musical performance, Laura performs at special events, concerts and galas. She was a member of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and Mendelssohn Singers, frequently performing at Roy Thomson Hall with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Other highlights include performing with international superstar Andrea Bocelli at the Air Canada Centre. Laura is a regular soloist for the annual Order of Ontario at Queen’s Park. Laura also performed at Canada’s famous BlackCreek Music Festival, sharing the stage with opera legend Placido Domingo, Sondra Radvanovsky, the London Symphony Orchestra, Martin Short, Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell, amongst other notable performances.

Today is our first day back to classes. We are excited to see you all and to get moving again this week. Our first day brings with it another helping of snow.
