We are proud to offer dance exams in ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance. We are associated with: The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) for Ballet, The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) for Modern and Tap, and The Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association (CDTA) for Jazz.
The Royal Academy of Dance provides a ballet syllabus to develop a professional dancer. The RAD is a reputable worldwide organization. Students who study RAD ballet receive an education that prepares them for a career in teaching, performing, or choreography. RAD exams start at the PrePrimary level (4-year-olds) all the way up to Advanced 2 (17 years old and beyond)
The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing is based in London, England, but again is recognized worldwide. This organization accommodates our tap and modern students. The syllabus follows fundamental movement skills, appropriate for proper development, which are based on strength, flexibility, performance, musicality, and technique. This ISTD syllabus allows our students to develop the skills to become well-rounded dancers and performers. ISTD Modern and Tap exams are available from the PrePrimary Level (4-year-olds) all the way up to Advanced 2 (17 years old and beyond).
We offer Jazz exams through the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. This organization is recognized across Canada. The focus on technique, energy, and performance, help to develop a polished dancer. CDTA exams are available from the (4-year-olds) all the way up to Advanced 2 (17 years old and beyond).
Exams are a great way for the students to understand the techniques specific to the discipline of dance. Exams are not mandatory, however, if students eligible to participate in the exam programme, we strongly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity.
